Luna Moon Print

$50.00

Gicleé print of my watercolor “Luna” painting.

Earth’s moon is the Earth’s only satellite and is the fifth largest satellite in our solar system. It is thought to have formed about 4.51 billion years ago, not long after Earth. The word “moon” comes from the Old English word “mona.” The moon has many names, including the Latin “Luna” and the Greek “Selene”, both referring to goddesses. Earth’s moon is in synchronous rotation with the Earth and so the same side can always be viewable from Earth. The moon is a feminine symbol, universally representing the rhythm of time as it embodies the cycle. The phases of the moon symbolize immortality and eternity, enlightenment, or the dark side of nature herself.
